For the last 10 years I have been practicing in Los Alamitos in the area of Marriage and Family Therapy as a licensed therapist. My approach to therapy is holistic where I want to make sure each person is cared for biologically, emotionally, and spiritually. That is why I offer Neurofeedback, talk therapy, and Biblical principles in session. I also offer sessions for those who do not wish to use scriptural based interventions.

I believe many things influence the counseling process. Spiritual awareness and religious background are taken into consideration as well as cultural views, family structure, age, and social/economic status. With my experience in the area of marriage and families, I provide Christian counseling services to help people create peace and balance in their lives through enhancing growth and understanding toward God, self, and others.

I work with Adults, Teens, Children and Couples in the areas of:

  • Trauma
  • Grief
  • Self Esteem
  • Identity
  • Coping Skills
  • Divorce Support
  • Relationship Conflict
  • Anger Management
  • and more…
  • Parenting Strategies

I take the time to find a solution that works for you and your children. No two families are alike and that is why I do not offer “cookie cutter” solutions. Unique strategies for your unique family.

  • Clinical Education and Experience

M.A. Degree – Counseling Psychology – American Behavioral Studies Institute

B.S. Degree – Counseling Psychology – Vanguard University

EEG Institute – Trained Facilitator for Neurofeedback

Through training and experience, I have gained a deep understanding of parenting issues and have had numerous opportunities to help with the life stages and challenges that children and adolescents go through. My desire is to help strengthen marriages, assist with divorce recovery, and navigate through times of grief – all to bring individuals and families to a healthy and whole place in life.

Being on staff for over 6 years at one of Southern California’s largest Christian counseling centers, I received both training and perspective on Christian counseling. The opportunity to partner with churches and understand the individual needs of each congregation has strengthened my Christ-centered counseling.

Working with a variety of individuals and families through my ongoing relationship with Twin Town Treatment Center in Los Alamitos has given me the opportunity to provide sobriety support for those recovering from addiction and their families.

  • Outreach, Ministry and Community

As the Outreach Coordinator for Casa Youth Shelter in Los Alamitos, I counseled run-a-way and throw-a-way youth. I have worked with at-risk youth as a counselor for a private school in Inglewood, and developed my skills to communicate with and motivate defiant youth.

For the last 20 years as a member of my home church, I have enjoyed helping in Children’s Ministries as a Sunday School Teacher, Coordinator and Director of Children’s Ministries. The opportunity in teaching and working with parents, teachers, and youth group leaders has given additional insights and skills to them which allow a more positive church experience for children and adolescents.

In the past, I have had the opportunity to host at community Mental Health Awareness Fairs and offer services to families in need. While working with a variety of cities in the Los Angeles and Orange counties, I have seen firsthand the need for quality counseling in order to better our communities.

  • Seminars, Workshop and Guest Speaker

In developing curriculum, workshops and lectures in multiple venues and on a variety of topics, I have the opportunity to bring education, tips and tools for every walk in life.

In addition, I provide court-ordered parenting classes, custody disputes and anger management, and other areas of focus.

  • Published Author

I am privileged to have Co-Authored with Herbert I. Abrams, PhD. The book entitled – “Art Therapy for Children of All Ages – A Cook Book for Therapists” provides evaluation and therapy tools to clinicians by utilizing art mediums with their clients and gives clients tools to implement in everyday parenting.

  • Committed To Family

I enjoy spending time with my family, doing outdoor activities and I have a passion to help others grow in the understanding of God’s amazing grace.
